Corolla’s first guide service began leading beach tours as Bender’s Beach Service in 1962 before becoming Corolla Outback Adventures in 1993. Twenty-four years later the Bender family continues tours into Corolla’s outback where wild horses roam free with access to sheltered land, donated by the family, as a dedicated sanctuary. Just for the Beach

Come out every Tuesday morning and join the fun! Our free group bike ride totals about 25 miles, with only two of those miles on N.C. 12. Led by the avid riders of the Just For the Beach crew, this scenic ride takes you on a locals’ tour of the Outer Banks. Groups may be divided depending on proficiency and distances are adjusted so all riders start and finish at the same time. There is no charge for the ride, just bring your bike or rent one of ours.

Corolla Wild Horse Fund

The Corolla Wild Horse Fund is the only not-for-profit private organization in the country that manages a herd of wild horses. Its mission is to protect and conserve the Colonial Spanish Mustangs that have roamed the northernmost beaches of the Outer Banks for the past 500 years. The Corolla Wild Horse Fund museum is open year round, offering trips to see the wild horses, a gift shop, and educational and fun events throughout the seasons.

The Lost Colony 

After nearly 450 years, the mystery of the colonists’ disappearance remains unsolved. Celebrating its 80th year, The Lost Colony, Paul Green’s Symphonic Outdoor Drama, is performed from May 21-August 19, 2017.
